"Yoga is about transcending the desire for external things, which is the cause of suffering, and finding peace and happiness within." One of the yamas is aparigraha, often translated as "greedlessness." Aparigraha also means "not having a lot of unnecessary things around yourself and not hankering after what other people have," "What gives life its juice is the ability to mourn anything fully and simultaneously know it doesn't ultimately matter. In other words, we can live to the fullest when we recognize that our suffering is based not on the fact of impermanence but rather on our reaction to that impermanence."
"Once you live your live with awareness, you will live with true happiness." "Part of the philosophy of yoga is that we can't always change the world around us. No matter what we do, bad things will happen and stressful situations will arise. The only thing we have control over—the only thing we can change—is ourselves. We can decide how to react to situations that challenge us. Will we allow them to throw us off center, or will we take them in stride?"
